The Royal Victoria Hospital (RVH) in Barrie ushered in a new era of healthcare by completing its Phase 1 Regional Health Centre Expansion, which followed a highly successful ‘I Believe’ capital fundraising campaign that raised over $35 million in investment capital.  An important part of this funding came from Georgian International when it donated $150,000 and pledged another $100,000, bringing its total financial contribution to $250,000. The new hospital expansion doubles the size of the existing facility by adding over 400,000 square feet and includes expanded emergency and imaging departments, a larger, fully-automated laboratory, capacity for 165 additional inpatient beds, two new operating rooms and the addition of a new Simcoe Muskoka Regional Cancer Centre.
